About Glenvas 4mg Capsule

The Glenvas 4mg capsule contains Lenvatinib as its main active component. It functions as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor and is prescribed for thyroid cancer patients who failed to respond to radioactive iodine therapy or were not fit for the treatment. Individuals with liver cancer who are unable to undergo surgery as their initial treatment are also prescribed this medicine.

Patients over 60 years old are generally more susceptible to developing anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, a severe form of thyroid cancer. This condition causes symptoms such as a large, firm thyroid gland and voice changes such as hoarseness caused by nerve damage in the larynx. Liver cancer, also known as hepatocellular carcinoma, is a result of underlying liver issues like cirrhosis or persistent hepatitis B virus infection.

Uses of Glenvas 4mg Capsule:

Glenvas 4mg capsule is prescribed for the treatment of the conditions listed below:

  • Endometrial cancer
  • Certain types of advanced thyroid cancer
  • Advanced liver cancer

How Glenvas 4mg Capsule works:

The Glenvas 4mg capsule works by stopping the function of tyrosine kinase receptors (RTKs). RTKs play a crucial role in creating new blood vessels that provide essential nutrients, including oxygen, and promote their growth. RTKs are found in high quantities in cancer cells. This medication targets the receptors responsible for promoting blood vessel growth in cancer cells, reducing the rate of cancer cell growth and replication.
