How Does It Work?

Micafungin is an echinocandin antifungal that blocks the formation of (1,3)-β-D-glucan, a key component of the fungal cell wall. This weakens the cell wall, causing the fungus to break down and die.

Precautions

Given only as an IV infusion under medical supervision.
